"Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions.”

- Elizabeth Gilbert

When feelings rise and linguistics fail, a simple shrug can say so much more than a long-winded monologue, but we somehow opt for the latter.

Emotion is a language; it helps break the toughest of barriers. The beauty of this language is that everyone understands it. No matter what culture or background you’re from. This is a feeling that comes to rise every single second with a different approach, it may be with different people you meet, or someone you’ve just met! You might feel a magnetic pull towards that person or you might feel like

running away.

Emotion is a strong feeling deriving from one's circumstances, mood, or relationships with others.

While there is definitely emotional and non-verbal communication with others, we have a sea of emotions within us. Those emotions are our responses to the world outside. Emotions affect everything we do, colouring every thought and action. They are an essential ingredient to our lives and our survival.

However hard you try you cannot control your emotions and if you have them bottled up they will blast one day and with that blast comes an array of mismatched emotions in a sequence that is as close to a nightmare. Emotions influence every aspect of your life, what you do, what you say etc. All of our emotions including anger to happiness to insecurity are influenced by what we see and do. Actions and situations trigger emotions.

People don't understand each other, they keep on messing around with another person's emotion even though they know it's hurting them. Nobody cares for one's emotions, sometimes these emotions lead us to darkness and then to depression. People hurt the person whom they love the most. Emotions are really a typical part of our lives, isn't it.

Emotions help express our feeling when words leave our side. Everyone has their own way of expressing life and that is what emotions truly stand out for. If we lose the ability to emote we lose 50% of our communication ability. Never lose your emotions and always keep expressing however you feel, because this is a blessing in disguise.

“I don't want to be at the mercy of my emotions. I want to use them, to enjoy them, and to dominate

them.”

- Oscar Wilde
