           What does 4 & 4 together relate to you ?   may be 44 ?  But to me it also relates as 4+4= 8.. I still feel like an 8 year old when I see someone eating a cotton candy or if someone will hand over a Nintendo remote with playing SUPER MARIO bros.   

It is so intriguing and thought provoking that a human mind can actually feel and perceive different level of age and maturity depending on the things that surround you.. It is like you feel time is slow when you have a boring conversation or a boring lecture in college but you think the time is too fast when you are chilling out with your friends ..isn’t it.  

Similarly, if you are enjoying the activities of your life at the fullest, you feel much younger and lighter.  If you are having a hard time in your life then you feel more older and heavier..  so the secret to feel 4 & 4 together as 8 is to keep yourself active and surrounded by things that you like and stay away from things that keep you bothered and bored and you will feel much younger. 

Do you all remember, the small image with dots that we used to get in newspaper which looked something like this…

At first we do not know what it will turn out to be but when we start joining the dots, after a while an image starts forming and makes things much clearer to us once all dots are connected. While i am writing this and as usual when i look back retrospectively to the year that passed by and years that i have lived my life, I truly realise that things that happen in your life do not happen just like that.. Every event has a reason and every event is a dot that happens in the picture of your life.. You may not realise the importance of that dot at that time in your life but it can actually be a big turning point in your life when you connect the dots backwards to create your picture.

Let me share a few things today which make a lot of sense now in completing my picture..  

I always wanted to pursue Medicine and be a doctor..  I did not score well in my 12th Grade and as a result, i only had limited choices – One of them was textiles.. at that point, i could not have imagined the importance of that dot which I selected out of available dots.. but now retrospectively, it makes a lot of sense as my aptitude was never meant to be for medicine and hence what i chose for my aptitude worked for me..

While i finished my Studies in Bangalore, I had two choices – Mumbai & Delhi.. I simply chose Mumbai because i was fascinated with the Mumbai life and wanted to be close to Ahmedabad.  Some of the people that i worked with in Mumbai (including my first 2 Bosses) have been the most influential people in shaping my life and the way i have grown.  The values that they have imbibed in me couldn’t have been better anywhere else.. This is one dot which I feel is another big turning point.

The decision of moving from Mumbai to Ahmedabad was purely on health grounds of Kinjal.  With no plans about future or no vision, i just decided to move back to Ahmedabad.    Travelling across the globe for 6 months of a year for almost 3 years, i had no idea where would that lead me to  but now it makes a lot of sense as what i have gained in that extreme travelling is the core of my exposure to the world of the business that I am in.

I can go on and on with so many such dots that have influenced my life. but some other time.

So every single dot that happens in your life – today or tomorrow,  just go by your gut,  select the dot and move on and give your best.. You never know what part of your beautiful picture that dot would be..  Each dot has a significance in your life.. you may not realise it now but years down the line.. when you sit back – relax and look at the beautiful picture of life that you have created, you will feel extremely grateful to the life for giving you those dots on your path.

You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.

I had a wonderful birthday starting from 10 Pm last evening until now.. with friends / family celebrating mid night.. Blessed with Wishes / posters / Birthday song playing on speaker at office by my team members. Wishes pouring across all social media from people whom I hardly interact during the entire year..but still make it a point to wish me on my special day.. The amount of love is overwhelming and feel completely blessed by all the people around me making my dots convert into a beautiful picture called Life..
