The morning today was different. Normally I wake up early morning to write this blog but today even after getting up for some reason, all thoughts were scattered. So many things to write but not able to put them together so I just decided to let my mind gather all and push me when it finished accumulation.

I wanted to write a few words that could never really be communicated by measure the gratitude towards Kinjal for these 17 years of togetherness.

Kinjal,

I had read somewhere that to make sure you have a good marriage life, you must make sure that husband and wife must be good friends. Unfortunately due to the difference between our nature & thought differences we have not been able to be GOOD friends. and let me start by accepting that fact.

I know it sounds a bit weird bcoz most people think now a days that it is very normal to be GOOD friends with your spouse but to my belief, it takes a lot to reach to that level of being Best Buddies with your spouse. For few of my friends who have married their child hood school love, it may be different than what i think.

Today we celebrate our 17th anniversary.

If I wish, I can be nicely poetic about love, commitment, romance, and other things that people associate with married couples but in contrast to that , I want to thank Kinjal for the things that keep me glued to her, the small things that define why the man I see in the mirror today – despite the greying hair, the wrinkled skin and tummy a little heavier – is a better man than he was 17 years ago.

  1. Thank you for being selfless honest in recent years & for having the guts to tell me things that are uncomfortable but true about myself because I needed to hear them.

  2. Thank you for telling me the truth.

  3. Thank you for telling me that Tanjal will always look at me and my persona and follow me closely and hence any improvement that i do in myself will be good for her upbringing & constantly reminding me of my role as a father which I sometimes tend to forget.

  4. Thank you for always making sure that my meals are healthy (though i do not like them that way) and reminding me that there is also a heart which is important before the tongue.

  5. Thank you for filling my heavy Lunch basket which is the source of envy for a lot of people..

  6. Thank you for telling me to eat better and not eat in the middle of the night.

  7. Thank you for challenging me in being a better father for Tanjal through my actions.

  8. Thank you for accommodating my unplanned and unreasonable travel plans at times though you do not like them.

  9. Thank you for playing Ludo with me and challenging me to Win all the time. Keeps the child in me alive.

  10. Thank you for making me want to be a better man, not because of some expectation that you may have of me, but because I want to become a better man.

Believe me even as you feel you need to reduce weight, and you have now reading glasses but you still are a good looking woman with a pleasant smile, a caring nature & a strict mother who shows me more patience than I deserve.

My thoughts end here but the gratitude does not..

Happy anniversary.”
